Tadasana – Mountain Pose

Tadasana - Mountain Pose

This is one of the simplest and at the same time the fundamental postures in practice of yoga asanas. It is the beginning and the end of many other asanas, so its development is very important.

Meaning of the asana:
“Tada” means mountain, hence this posture, in which we must stand firm and straight, like a mountain.

Technique of the asana:

  1. Stand straight with feet together combining so that the toes and heels touching. Metatarsal head lowered to the floor, and pull all the fingers flat on the floor. Do not strain your toes, pull them off the ground and keep relaxed. Ensure that the weight of the body was at the center of the arch of the foot, not the heel or toe . Ankle keeping in line with each other.
  2. Strain the knees, pull the kneecaps up and stretch the quadriceps. Compress the hips and strain muscles of the buttocks.
  3. Draw the belly and lift it up, do not bulging. Straighten your back, straightening each vertebra and feeling upward movement. Lift up breast and expand the chest by pulling your shoulders back and gently lowered them down. Neck held upright, the head should look forward and straight, without slopes.
  4. Lower arms along the body, pulling down, as if you pull behind your fingers. Hands should be perfectly flat, facing the thighs and are aligned with each other. Keep your fingers together. Not to raise the shoulders.

In this position, you must be frozen for 20-30 seconds.

The effect of performing asanas:
Before you try to stand on your head, you must first learn how to properly stand. Most people simply do not know how to do it . Getting used to stand not properly, they do not distribute evenly on the body vest the whole foot and acquire specific strain adversely affecting the spine. In the wrong spine upright position is in constant tension, which makes people tired, and then lethargy and mind disorders in the psyche.
